AC Marriott

Partnering with Woodbine Development Corporation, Ryan built AC Marriott Hotel’s Irvine location in the heart of Orange County, within a premium urban, mixed-use master development project known as Park Place. AC Marriott Hotels, originating in Spain, are modern, European and design-driven; the six-story building features 175 guest rooms, a second-story pool with terrace, 1,500 square feet of meeting space, an AC Kitchen and Lounge and a fitness facility.

Ryan Construction came on board just as the design phase was finishing up. Yet considerable effort was still needed in order to bring the design into alignment with construction feasibility. We came along the owner’s design team, using 3D coordination and the expertise of our virtual design team to fully coordinate the design plan and phase the construction. This resulted in a seamless approach to the building of the hotel that would meet the owner’s desired deadline, while helping to save money.

Working in the City of Irvine presented an additional set of challenges—the city has a rigorous inspection protocol which threatened to delay the process on several occasions. By keeping close, open communication between the city’s inspectors and our construction teams, we were able to successfully manage the inspection process and stay on schedule.

Trendy and sophisticated, the hotel is centrally located, offering guests access to the best the area has to offer. Nearby attractions include a variety of art offerings, shopping venues, theme parks, and several recreational activities from hiking and biking to surfing at one of the area’s many beaches.
