Global healthcare technology leader, Medtronic, not only needed a multi-service partner to help bring their local business units under one roof in a new office campus, they needed an end-to-end collaborator who could support them as a trusted partner and push them beyond their comfort zone. Ryan was that trusted partner. Selected for our robust and complementary development, construction, and capital markets services and our shared values, we were tasked to ask the tough questions to ensure we delivered the best, most practically useful project as efficiently as possible.

From providing multiple site options to engaging a lab consultant to ensure nothing was lost in translation between Ryan builders best practices and Medtronic’s end users’ practical needs, we ensured that every step of the process supported Medtronic’s end goal of helping their business units collaborate more efficiently. When evaluating Medtronic’s mechanical, electrical, manufacturing or redundancy standards, asking “Why?” was only the beginning—we explored multiple approaches, presented options and alternatives paired with analysis, scrutinized the impact of each on budget and schedule, and consistently made decisions together for the best path forward. The project, like the partnership, thrived.

This 413,101-SF campus houses Medtronic’s regional office headquarters for several business units, staff training areas, and lab spaces for R&D. We worked closely with Medtronic to implement a practical approach to sustainability early on, sourcing local, durable and sustainable materials. Other sustainable features include energy-efficient building systems, electric vehicle charging stations, pollinator gardens, and solar parking canopies.
