U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Outpatient Clinic — Santa Rosa

Communication, coordination and relationship building played a key role in construction of the new Santa Rosa VA Outpatient Clinic in the Northpoint Business Park, Santa Rosa, CA. The 58,000-SF, single-story clinic hosts primary care as well as numerous specialties including mental health, women’s health, telehealth, dental, labs, OT and PT, radiology, prosthetics and a pharmacy. Our construction team meticulously coordinated project details between the development partner, a repeat customer; the tenant, US Department of Veteran Affairs (VA); the city; and numerous agencies and consultants, deepening our relationship and building trust in northern California. We often communicated directly with the VA to meet their clearly outlined expectations—on-time delivery is critical—and connected regularly with city officials regarding guidelines and permitting, keeping the project smoothly moving forward. Consultants provided insight and guidance on everything from the building envelope to the roof, commissioning and code review. We brought in our Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team to provide 3-D renderings, enabling the VA to better envision room designs and accommodation of equipment. The Santa Rosa VA Outpatient Clinic exterior features a variety of finishes, including veneer brick, stucco, metal panels and full-height glazing. The interior includes many rooms to accommodate patients seeking a variety of services, a tempered HVAC system and pharmacy with bullet-proof transaction windows. The clinic is certified by the Green Building Initiative’s Green Globes program, receiving two Green Globes for its sustainable features, including its highly insulated envelope to conserve energy usage.
