Ryan and CB Richard Ellis partner to deliver a LEED-CI space
CB Richard Ellis Group, Inc., the world’s largest commercial real estate services company, has a goal to become carbon neutral by 2010. So when the company’s Minneapolis office decided it needed more space to accommodate its growth, they chose Ryan’s Two MarketPointe class “A” office building for its location and innovative sustainability features including under-floor air delivery, indirect/direct pendant lights and ten-foot-high floor-to-ceiling windows. Two MarketPointe will seek Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Core and Shell (LEED-CS). The CB Richard Ellis space is Minnesota’s first LEED-CI (Commercial Interiors) gold level projects.
Ryan worked very closely with BDH&Young and Studio 2030 to establish and maintain a high-performing sustainable design. An impressive, rich aesthetic is supported by regional materials, certified wood and materials with recycled content. Low-emitting paints, carpets, adhesives and even furniture and seating are used throughout the space. Involving the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) subcontractors early was key to an optimized, successful mechanical and electrical design that promotes not only energy efficiency, but superior indoor air quality.
