Ryan worked closely with local, state and federal agencies to redevelop contaminated site Ryan partnered with the City of New Brighton and the Environmental Protection Agency to redevelop the former MacGillis & Gibbs/Bell Lumber & Pole Superfund site. Superfund is the common name for the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act which protects people, families, communities and others from heavily contaminated toxic waste sites that have been abandoned. After a nine-year process of clean-up by the EPA and the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA), Ryan built a 57,980-square-foot industrial building on part of the site.
