LEED Successes
Ryan, Rockwell Collins and OPN Architects partnered to plan, design and construct a 120,000-square-foot, LEED-certified, pre-engineered building. And they delivered — a LEED certified level building in 11 months and comfortably under $100 per square foot. The project team focused on energy and water efficiency, a small building footprint covering only 2.75 acres, recycled building material (16% of the shell was constructed with recycled content) and construction recycling.

The largest contributor to the building’s energy efficiency — the building exceeds ASHRAE 90.1-2004 minimum energy performance requirements by more than 20% — is the lighting system, which utilizes occupancy sensors, fixture and laminar selection and after-hours zone sweeping. The project team also reduced water consumption by 40.2%. But perhaps the most staggering statistic is the 99.28% of construction waste diverted from the landfill.
