The Quarry
Largest retail development in Minneapolis outside of downtown
The Quarry is a community shopping center located on a former limestone quarry site in Northeast Minneapolis. It was developed in close coordination with the Minneapolis Community Development Agency.
The Quarry was awarded the 1998 best shopping center development Starr Award. Located in the shopping center are Target, Rainbow Foods, Home Depot, OfficeMax, PETsMART, Old Navy, Party City, Video Update, TCF Bank, Leeann Chin and other shops and services. Shoppers have ample parking, with more than 2,000 parking spaces available.
The Phoenix Award is given for brownfield redevelopment. A significant amount of environmental remediation was required to both soil and groundwater. Ryan worked closely with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. Special preparation of this 42-acre brownfield site involved demolition of twelve buildings which housed small businesses and truck terminals.
