Towers at Bressi Ranch Solar Panel System

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) Solar Panels  The Towers at Bressi Ranch was the first major development for Ryan’s San Diego office, and the first LEED-certified project in Carlsbad. The project hosts a SDG&E-owned 80 kW photovoltaic solar panels system which provides clean, locally-generated renewable energy to the community. The 80.37 kW AC system includes 480 Kyocera 200 GT panels and in its first year of operation produced 144,240kWh. System accessories include a SatCom 100kW inverter and Sunlink racking system.

In September 2009, Ryan received a Sustainable Communities Award from SDG&E for the success of the project. The Towers at Bressi Ranch will achieve an estimated energy efficiency that is 20.7% better than California’s Energy Efficiency Standards, saving an estimated 314,033 kWh annually. This savings is estimated to reduce CO2 emissions by 172 tons, which is the equivalent of removing 41 cars off the road, or planting 5,700 trees. The building also received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Core & Shell certification from the US Green Building Council.
