400,000 square feet of office with unique building challenges in 12 months
The new Allina Corporate Headquarters, named Allina Commons, had numerous challenges. The new headquarters are located in a former nine-story, regional warehouse and retail store for Sears that was built in 1928. The building is also on the National Register of Historic Places. To bring light into the massive old warehouse, Ryan cut through nine stories of concrete floors to install a glass atruim in the middle of the building. With nearly 2,000 workstations, Allina Commons is one of the largest open office configurations in corporate America. The environment encourages teamwork and creates a transparent, collaborative culture.
