German company selects Ryan to design-build a plant
As food ingredient companies continue to grow in the area, J. Rettenmaier & Söhne GmbH (JRS), a German company, wanted a dietary fiber production facility in southwest Cedar Rapds, Iowa. Ryan developed the 40-acre site into a manufacturing campus consisting of a warehouse building, a process building, raw material unloading area, finished-goods loading area and loading dock. 

The process building is a completely precast concrete structure with a concrete roof system over the dry process area. Ryan and architectural partners KJWW Engineers and OPN Architects worked with JRS to bring the expertise from Germany to implement the concrete roof system which is unique in the United States.
