Isle of Capri Casino and Hotel
Ryan provides development assistance Ryan provided full design-build services on the Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo casino that includes associated restaurants andentertainment space and a 194-room hotel. In addition, Ryan assisted with the landacquisition and with the negotiation of city infrastructure improvements to the property. The entire project is a public/private venture involving the current land owner, The City of Waterloo, Blackhawk Gaming Association as well as Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. Ryan is acting as the central point of contact to address each group’s needs and provide a comprehensive solution.
This project held a unique challenge for Ryan Because Iowa gaming regulations mandate all gaming areas must occur over water, Ryan and the design team had to explore various options of how to build a casino without a major waterway. The result is an attractive, cost-effective casino structure suspended over a six-acre man-made lake located on a 50-acre undeveloped parcel of land.
Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc., founded in 1992, owns and operates 15 riverboat, dockside and land-based casinos throughout the country. Ryan is currently working on two additional projects for Isle Casino Hotel — casino and hotel in Davenport, Iowa, and a hotel annex in Bettendorf, Iowa.
