Ryan Manages Construction of Solar Rooftop Installation
Best Power International, LLC and Westwood Renewables, LLC selected Ryan to oversee construction of the Minneapolis Convention Center 600kW rooftop PV solar project. Best Power, the project owner and operator, is teaming with Westwood Renewables to provide design, engineering and program management for the project. Hunt Electric is providing electrical contracting.

The Minneapolis project consists of 2,613 panels of photovoltaic (PV) modules on part of the convention center’s roof (shaded above in yellow). One-third will be oriented for maximum energy capture, one-third to capture solar energy at the building’s peak energy use, and another third for Xcel Energy’s peak demand. The rooftop installation will cover the equivalent of nearly two and a half football fields and supply power to the Convention Center. The project is utilizing a $2.0 million grant from Xcel Energy’s Renewable Development Fund.

Best Power International, LLC is a Minnesota-based solar integrator that was founded in 2005, and has developed more than 20 percent of Minnesota’s installed solar capacity.
