Balancing the operational and the aesthetic
Pleased with Ryan's previous performance on two other corporate facilities in Santee, California and San Antonio, Texas, The Hartford knew Ryan would provide the single-source accountability and strong team execution needed to build their new Minneapolis regional office, located on an eight-acre site in Maple Grove, Minnesota's Wedgewood Corporate Centre. The optimum efficiency of the 33,000 square-foot rectangular floor plate, designed to accommodate an expansion of up to 40,000 square feet, is complemented by an attractive exterior design, including architectural precast, brick and glass curtain wall. As a primary regional operations center for The Hartford, the infrastructure was designed to help reduce data and physical losses if a critical event, such as a power failure, fire or an earthquake, should occur. There is also a kitchen/cafeteria space that is capable of feeding 600-800 people.
