Country's Sixth Ranked Law School
The University of Minnesota Law School outgrew its initial building built in 1978. The new addition was necessary to house physical resources and staff critical for the law school to maintain its sixth place national ranking. The second and final phase of the Law School structure adds seminar rooms, offices for full-time faculty, adjunct faculty and student organizations, staff lounge, five law institute research centers, a student commons for studying and socializing and a recessed courtyard. A climate-controlled room was also constructed to house the University's rare law books library.
Ryan was able to deliver the facility three months ahead of schedule with the no additional costs. A unique "Main Street" cityscape environment with an inviting atmosphere of a boardwalk setting, connects the Phase I (1978) and Phase II (2001) facilities.
