Providing easy accessibility for doctors and patients
When the decision was made to build a new medical office center in Clinton, Iowa, Ryan was presented with two challenges: provide sheltered, private parking for the doctors; and allow city buses to pick-up and drop off passengers at the front door. This  L-shaped building provides ample parking for patients in front, while employee parking is located in the rear. Private garages are provided for the doctors. The focal point of the brick and dryvit building is the 15'-6"-arched canopy projecting out above the entrance. Located 12'-6" above the ground, the canopy provides shelter for patients who use the city bus system to get to and from the clinic. The exposed support steel for the canopy provides a unique visual element within the front lobby. All of the steel for the canopy was fabricated in Ryan's steel fabrication shop.
