Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building

The GSA selects Ryan based on previous project success
Based on Ryan’s success renovating the Warren E. Burger Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in St. Paul, Minnesota, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) selected Ryan to completely renovate and remodel the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building. The scope of the project includes lead and asbestos abatement, the removal and replacement of all mechanical, plumbing, fire protection and electrical systems as well as a possible geothermal heating and cooling system for the building.

The team is also investigating a photovoltaic panel system to generate electricity for a minimum of 30% of the building’s hot water heating needs. Ryan is currently providing full preconstruction services on the project and the team anticipates achieving Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver level certification once construction is complete.
