Modern Manufacturing and Engineering Chooses Ryan Companies US, Inc's Design-Build Services for New Manufacturing Facility

610 Business Park in Brooklyn Park will be new home for rapidly growing components manufacturer MINNEAPOLIS (April 11, 2005) — Modern Manufacturing and Engineering, a local custom manufacturer serving the air, defense and commercial industries, has chosen Ryan Companies US, Inc., to provide design-build services for its new facility. Situated in the third addition of the 610 Business Park in Brooklyn Park, the two companies will break ground on the project tomorrow.

“Using Ryan’s design-build services has made this experience easier and much more enjoyable,” said Hue Van Lien, president, Modern Manufacturing and Engineering. “Working with just one company throughout the planning and construction process really simplifies what could have been a very confusing and difficult process.”

Ryan expects to complete the 52,000-square-foot facility by October, 2005. The building will house both the offices and manufacturing space for the growing company. A two-story curved reflective glass exterior curtainwall clads the office portion of the building and marks the building’s main entrance. The curved glass façade ends at two large rusticated masonry “shoulders.” The masonry detail steps down along the building sides, exposing sandstone aggregate precast concrete wall panels with punched clerestory window openings that will flood the manufacturing space with natural light. The entrance plaza and landscaping was designed to enhance the building’s features while leading the customer to the main entrance.

“We’re very excited to work with this up and coming company,” said Paul Kieffer, Ryan Companies. “It is always a rewarding experience to work alongside entrepreneurs, considering that’s how our own company got its start.”
