Ryan Companies US, Inc. Adds Lowe's Home Improvement Store to Dean Lakes Development

MINNEAPOLIS (June 29, 2005) – Retail construction at Dean Lakes, one of the largest mixed-use developments in the Twin Cities’ southwest metro, continued to build momentum today as Ryan Companies US, Inc. announced that Lowe’s Home Improvement Centers will build a 150,000 square-foot store in the development. The project will break ground in June, and planners estimate the new store will be open for business in early 2006.

This latest project adds to an already heavy summer construction schedule at Dean Lakes : crews are in the final phases of construction work on a Holiday Stationstore, Goodyear Tire store, and Ruby Tuesday restaurant, all of which are expected to be completed and open by July. In addition, Ryan will begin work on a branch office for BNC Bank, and on approximately 16,000 square feet of small shop space that will be ready for occupancy in September.

Progress also continues in the Dean Lakes Business Park. Dean Lakes Health, a 20,000 square foot medical office building, is now complete and the home of Edina Eye Physicians & Surgeons, who occupy 5,000 square feet Software company Open Systems Inc. has selected a site at Dean Lakes, and will use Ryan Companies to design and build a 25,000 square-foot single-story office building that will be completed and ready for occupancy by November.

In total, in 2005, Dean Lakes will see more than 215,000 square feet of construction Covering more than 250 acres, the project is one of the largest mixed-use developments in the Twin Cities’ southwest region. When completed, it will blend residential, retail, industrial and office space and feature 84 acres of dedicated conservation land that will include an extensive regional trail system, parklands and wetlands.
