Mark Schoening Starts New Role in Ryan Companies US, Inc.'s Retail Group
MINNEAPOLIS (June 12, 2006) – Ryan Companies US, Inc. announced today that Mark Schoening, vice president of development in the business park and suburban mixed-use development group, will assume a new role within the retail development group.
During Schoening’s tenure with Ryan, he has overseen the development of one of the largest mixed-use developments in Minnesota, Dean Lakes in Shakopee. He has also led numerous business park developments, including the 610 Business Center in Brooklyn Park, the Hiawatha Business Center in Minneapolis, New Brighton Commons in New Brighton and the upcoming Crystal Bay Business Center in Orono.
“The retail group at Ryan has a great history,” said Schoening. “They've worked with some of the best retailers in the country, and they thrive on the challenges those customers present.”
Ryan’s first retail project dates back to 1946, when the company built a grocery store for National Foods in Hibbing, Minn. Over the years, Ryan has worked with nationally-recognized companies such as Target, Home Depot, Lowe’s, SuperValu, Rainbow, Best Buy, Kohl’s, Gander Mountain and others, providing a range of services from site selection to design, construction, and property management. In addition to standalone stores, Ryan has also developed many shopping centers including The Quarry in Minneapolis, Savage Crossings in Savage, Clydesdale Marketplace in Medina, and upcoming projects in Richfield and Maple Grove.
“To lead in the retail market, our customers work hard at spotting opportunities and trends ahead of the competition,” said Schoening. “We do the same in the retail group, to help them meet their development goals. If we succeed we build lasting relationships, that makes the business fun as well as challenging.”
