Will Jensen Named Vice President of Architecture and Engineering at Ryan

MINNEAPOLIS (February 01, 2007) – Ryan Companies US, Inc. announced that it has hired William C. Jensen, AIA, CID, NCARB, LEED AP, to lead the company’s architecture and engineering group for the Minnesota region. Jensen, who brings 24 years of experience to Ryan, will oversee the group’s numerous integrated disciplines including: architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, interior design, civil engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering for all projects including commercial office, retail, industrial, hospitality, mixed-use and public sector markets.

The architecture and engineering group at Ryan has grown significantly over the past few years, and is comprised of more than 50 design professionals. Members of the group partner with Ryan’s development, construction and real estate management teams to deliver the best design solution for each customer’s unique business requirements. Recent examples from the Ryan portfolio include the Q-Logic office building at Dean Lakes in Shakopee, Minnesota; Cristo Rey Jesuit High School and Colin Powell Youth Leadership Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota; and the 11,000-seat Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

Before he joined Ryan, Jensen designed commercial office complexes such as the Urban Outfitters and Epic Systems Corporation corporate campuses. Recent projects are found in Minneapolis , Philadelphia, Madison, Dalian, China, and his native New York City. Jensen has also led master planning efforts for various communities around the country. He started his building career as a journeyman carpenter in NYC Local #17 before working as a project manager for several large east coast construction management companies working on large-scale corporate office facilities.

Jensen received his Masters of Architecture from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Architecture and Urban Planning; part of his degree program included time at the Ecole Special D’Architecture in Paris. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), a LEED Accredited Professional, NCARB certified and a Certified Interior Designer, and a member of the American Institute of Architects.

Jensen’s appreciation for continued learning and professional development has also led him to serve as an adjunct instructor at the University of Minnesota ’s College of Design , where he has taught graduate and undergraduate design studio as well as urban design studio. He has also lectured at several universities on sustainable planning and design.
