Mark Nordland VP at Ryan Companies US, Inc. is 40 Under Forty Honoree

MINNEAPOLIS (March 26, 2010) – A Ryan Companies US, Inc.’s vice president of development has been honored as one of Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s “40 Under Forty” top executives. Mark Nordland, who joined Ryan in 2006 as the company’s youngest vice president, was nominated for his broad range of accomplishments, including co-leading the company’s Minnesota Region development team in developing more than $500 million in projects — $185 of which he personally developed.

“Mark has become one of the top developers in Minnesota,” said Collin Barr, President, Minnesota Region, Ryan Companies US, Inc. “Whether he is putting together a development, leading our United Way Campaign or presenting at an industry event, he puts 100% into everything he does, and he always gets results.”

The Business Journal’s “40 Under Forty” awards recognize the region’s up-and-coming business and community leaders. Selections are based on each individual’s professional achievements and commitment to community service.

As vice president of industrial development, Nordland directs all aspects of Ryan’s industrial and business park development for the Minnesota region. He is known for providing first-class service to customers, while sharply focusing on the intricacies of managing multiple development projects. Some of Mark’s development highlights include: 118,500-square-foot build-to-suit for Transoma Medical in New Brighton, Minn.; 130,000-square-foot office building for The Hartford Insurance Company in Hartford, New York; and the 100,074-square-foot corporate office for QLogic Corporation in Shakopee, Minn.

Nordland received his bachelor’s degree in economics and government from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania. Before joining Ryan, he served as director of industrial development at CSM Corporation and as an industrial broker at Welsh Companies. Nordland is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), and also belongs to the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and the Minnesota Commercial Association of Realtors (MNCAR).  Mark was the co-chair of Ryan’s United Way Campaign in 2008 and has volunteered with A Chance to Grow and Catholic Charities.
