Promotion Recognizes Client Service and Results-Oriented Approach

Naperville, Ill. (January 31, 2011)—Jim McDonald has been promoted to Vice President of Development at Ryan Companies US, Inc., from Director of Development, a promotion that recognizes his years of service and his results-oriented, client-focused approach to business.

As Vice President of Development, McDonald, 36, focuses his efforts on office and medical office building/complex development for Ryan. This involves all facets of the development process:  land acquisition, entitlement, construction, leasing, finance and sales. Among the specific projects he has directed include:

• Froedtert Health Menomonee Falls Clinic, a 140,000-square-foot multi-specialty medical clinic in Menomonee Falls, Wisc. that is expected to break ground in Spring 2011;
• Delta Dental of Illinois’ 85,000-square-foot office building in Naperville, Ill.;
• Community Memorial Medical Commons, a 120,000-square-foot medical office complex in Menomonee Falls, Wisc.;
• Deere & Company’s Warehouse and Distribution Facilities in Janesville, Wisc.; Jefferson City, Tenn.; and Davenport, Iowa, totaling more than 1.5 million square feet of space.

McDonald attributes his success at Ryan and on behalf of his clients to his ability to bring a fresh perspective to a development concept, provide clients imaginative solutions to complex problems, maximize a project’s overall value and customer satisfaction, and be mindful of new opportunities for Ryan.

“While 2010 was a challenging year for all of us in the real estate and construction industry, I believe 2011 will offer new and exciting opportunities for Ryan.  My focus will remain centered on responding to the needs of our existing clients, while working hard to build new relationships.”

McDonald has been with Ryan since 1999 and has worked with the company in a variety of capacities ranging from project manager to director of development, a position he has held for five years. He has worked in the company’s Davenport and Chicago offices.

McDonald is a member of NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, and board member of the Naperville Development Partnership.  Outside of the industry, McDonald is a board member for the Illinois Medical District Guest House Foundation. 

He attended Creighton University and ultimately earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
