NAPERVILLE, Ill. (September 13, 2011)— With a roster of projects at varying stages in the construction pipeline, the Chicago office of Ryan Companies US, Inc. has added John M. Dunneback Jr. as a senior project manager. The announcement was made by Tim Hennelly, president of the Great Lakes Region of Ryan, a region that includes Chicago.

Dunneback, 36, brings more than 13 years of experience to his new role. At Ryan, Dunneback will manage office, industrial, freezer/cooler, medical office and senior/multi-family housing development and construction projects. This involves oversight and due diligence for projects at existing Ryan developments, cultivating new third-party construction opportunities and assisting in the firm’s current pursuits.

Most recently, since 2006, Dunneback was a Senior Project and Business Development Manager for The Opus Group. There he was responsible for managing multiple construction projects and staff, establishing project budgets and schedules, negotiating contracts and pursuing new business opportunities. During his time at Opus Dunneback’s highlighted projects included office, education, multi-family residential and industrial/temperature-controlled facilities, which are a direct match for his areas of focus at Ryan.  

He previously held project management positions with TCB Design-Build and The McShane Companies.

Dunneback is a graduate of Marquette University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Business Administration. He is affiliated with numerous local and national real estate, engineering and professional associations, including American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), Association of Industrial Real Estate Brokers (AIRE), National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and International Association for Cold Storage Construction (IACSC).
