From 2014 to 2017, Brian served as the Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer of Optum, Inc., a leading health care services company.  In this role he oversaw all legal matters for the company, played a central role in developing and guiding Optum’s strategic growth initiatives and participated in key enterprise initiatives across UnitedHealth Group. Prior to joining Optum, Brian served as chair of the prominent Midwest-based law firm, Briggs and Morgan, where he practiced for more than 25 years, gaining expertise in healthcare, sports teams, finance, intellectual property, contracts, taxation, employee relations, governance and corporate strategy. Brian now serves as an advisor to a variety of national companies headquartered in the Twin Cities.
