Cedar Point Commons is a 30-acre redevelopment that includes approximately 350,000 square feet of retail space, featuring a SuperTarget and Home Depot as well as a TCF Bank, full-service restaurant, and several small retailers including Caribou, Subway, Famous Footwear, Verizon and Great Clips. The area, which is in close proximity to the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Airport, was identified by noise experts as a low frequency noise area. Cedar Point Commons is the first phase in the City of Richfield and the Housing Redevelopment Authority’s (HRA) Cedar Avenue Corridor Redevelopment Concept Master Plan which encompasses a six-block area in eastern Richfield that has transformed the area.

Cedar Point Commons establishes a community focal point for Richfield in addition to a shopping experience with pedestrian scale architecture at street level, wide sidewalks that connect to a neighboring park and outdoor eating areas. The development also accommodates pedestrian, transit, automobile and bicycle modes of transportation. The buildings have elements that complement the adjacent airport — modern styling, a strong horizontal emphasis with a select few vertical elements that mimic control towers and creatively mix metal and glass building materials.
