Project Overview

An ongoing relationship of mutual trust, value and respect began in 1997 when Ryan partnered with Deere & Company for what would become the first of many projects across the country. Working closely with the Deere team and Renew Moline, a non-profit economic development organization, Ryan provided a single-source solution for the planning, development and building of the John Deere Commons in Moline, Illinois.

A revitalizing addition to the downtown Moline Mississippi riverfront, the Commons features the John Deere Health Care headquarters, a five-story Class A office building with a brick exterior and copper barrel roof; various retail spaces including a hotel, restaurants and a John Deere store; and the John Deere Pavilion, an impressive open structure that houses new and classic John Deere equipment in an interactive agricultural exhibition and visitor’s center.

Deere initially approached us with a plan to renovate an existing facility, but after working to understand their overall company objectives, we presented them with several alternative strategies to better achieve their business and financial goals. They chose the new development over their original plans, and thus began a great collaboration that has spanned nearly 20 years. Throughout that time, our partners at Deere have relied on us to challenge them and present creative solutions to integrate their big picture, long-term goals with their commercial real estate needs.

What our customers are saying

  • Given the extreme complexity and exposure of this project, coupled with the schedule compression, it is truly impressive to see what’s taken place. I honestly feel the efforts of this project are above and beyond the norm.

John Reitz, Project Manager, Deere & Company
