After the success of the Magnolia School of Excellence, Charter Schools USA, Inc. (CSUSA) once again turned to Ryan Companies to build their expansion. This second building, located on 14 acres immediately adjacent to the current Magnolia elementary campus, is designed to create an exciting academic environment where students will thrive.
The school includes well-outfitted classrooms, a multi-purpose room, two science labs, computer labs, music rooms and art rooms. Bright spacious interior hallways are designed for maximum traffic flow with minimal congestion and advanced safety measures include a double-entry door security feature and security cameras throughout the interior and exterior of the building. Outdoor amenities include lighted football/soccer fields with concessions.
This high school will enroll approximately 600 students and employ 51 staff members in the 2016-2017 academic year. Full enrollment is projected to be 1,200 students and 91 staff members by 2020.
Ryan’s work with Charter Schools of America represents the “ideal partnership.” From start to finish, Ryan has provided turnkey solutions as CSUSA opened multiple schools across the U.S. on a tight budget and a narrow timeline.
The top priority for CSUSA is, and has always been, schools delivered on time—via a building process based on open communication, and without change orders. This made Ryan and CSUSA a natural fit. Our integrated process puts everybody at the table at the start of a project to get a complete understanding of the design and expectations, minimizing costs and scheduling surprises. While in the beginning Ryan provided flexible financing for CSUSA in order to aid their rapid expansion, today CSUSA is handling their own financing and our role is to provide the site selection and construction services they need to get each project built and opened successfully.
Since 2011 we have built more than 25 charter schools for CSUSA across multiple states, all coming in under budget and completed, on average, in less than six months. Ryan was involved in the financing, design, development and/or construction on all projects but two.
