At our Talamore senior living community in Sun Prairie, WI, we implemented strategic principles established with operating partner Great Lakes Management, while overseeing development, architecture and engineering, construction and capital markets. Each Talamore community is driven by the desire for meaningful engagement, care and connection with the wider community, with amenities calibrated to reflect authentic needs and thoughtfully allocated resources in a warm, comfortable setting. We located an ideal property in this beautiful, under-served suburb of Madison, close to a developing retail area that is attractive to residents and visitors, while providing neighboring homes with a quiet buffer.
In keeping with the area’s unique demographics, the design includes expanded, higher-end amenities. In addition to 141 independent living, assisted living and memory care units, there are multiple dining venues, library, wellness center with fitness area, spa and salon, club room and rooms for activities and larger gatherings. Finishes and furnishings were selected with an eye to safety and comfort. Two garden courtyards, including one for memory care, were designed around senior preferences for shade, accessibility and privacy.
Even before Covid-19, we specified a high-performance ventilation system and incorporated isolation wings among other design measures to protect community health. Despite challenges posed by the pandemic and severe rainfall, we finished the new senior living community on time.
