Designing these facilities require an elusive balance based around patients, families and staff and encompass a wide range of building types, including small and straightforward medical clinics to large and complex teaching and research hospitals. Because of our work in the healthcare space Ryan has been named a top outpatient developer by Revista and Healthcare Real Estate Insights for the second year in a row. In 2018, we were listed number eight overall based on square footage, and this year jumped to the number six slot. Additionally, Ryan tops the list as the number one design-build firm in Modern Healthcare’s 2019 Construction and Design Survey. The survey incorporates current and recently completed Ryan projects including the Brandon Gateway Medical Plaza in Brandon, FL. This 57,000-SF multi-tenant facility is located on an important thoroughfare in the community that provides convenient patient access. Primary tenant, Florida Orthopaedic Institute, occupies over half of the building with a large portion of the building serving as an urgent care clinic. Ryan was responsible for the development, design, construction and financing of the project, and currently owns and manages the facility. This project was completed in December 2018.
Banner Health, an outpatient facility located on the Banner Ironwood Medical Center campus in Queen Creek, AZ, is still in progress. This 60,000-SF facility will be leased out to various physician practices and medical groups. Co-developed through Ryan and Plaza Companies, the project is being built by our team and is slated for completion this summer. The facility will also be maintained by our real estate management’s building services group.
Examples of our real estate and facility strategy include facility and asset management, land position identification/evaluation, ambulatory network or facility expansions, emerging product types and creative capital solutions. To date Ryan has delivered over 175 successful healthcare projects and completed work in 17 states.
